It’s Frieze art week in London…. As art fairs and festivals bring a cosmopolitan crowd to London and Paris, a different question comes to the fore: Is art now more fashionable than fashion?
So art is fashionable — as it was in the era of Art Nouveau or in Paris in the 1920s.
But what is fashionable for art lovers to wear?
Roksanda Ilincic, wearing her designs, with collector Valeria Napoleone, wearing Roksanda Ilincic shirt, Osman Yousefzada denim jacket, and a Pleats Please Issey Miyake skirt, at the Hollybush Gardens gallery.
Philanthropist art collector Tania Fares wears a Lulu & Co. sweater, Stella McCartney skirt, Saint Laurent boots, and a Claire Barrow for Matches bag to look at work by Caragh Thuring at Thomas Dane Gallery.
Lily Atherton Hanbury, who works for Phillips auction house, amongst Rob Pruitt’s Safety Cones (After Richard Serra) at Gavin Brown, wearing her mother’s vintage chiffon pants and Alexander McQueen biker jacket and boots.
