Dolce and Gabbana’s Fall 2013 collection was one of pure over-the-top extravagance, celebrating the brand’s rich Italian history.
This season, the duo’s penchant for flair came in the form of Byzantine mosaic prints, with models decked out in golden crowns, oversize chandelier earrings, rosary beads, religious fresco patterns, and dazzling jewel adornments — not to mention the army of models in crimson lace that closed the show.
I see Sicilian Royalty! This is what the Dolce & Gabbana princess looks like. I love the mosaic images that look like they have been taken from the frescoes of the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, it’s both traditional and romantic. I like the deliciously rich colours and think they will be beautiful for winter.
