Elegance, femininity and sophistication reigned on the new Carolina Herrera Fall 2013 collection runway show at New York Fashion Week on Monday, which was entitled, “Capriccio for Carolina”
The collection was full of elegance drawn directly from the 1940’s, with an emphasis on “a tiny waist, and the shoulders, and the movement of the skirts,” according to the designer.
Models Karlie Kloss, followed by Cara Delevingne, opened the show wearing a long print cap sleeve dress with bow neck tie and a belted metallic overcoat with a fur-trimmed collar, respectively. In fact, fur was a large part of the show, in both traditional and dyed green and violet in bibs, waists, necklines, collars and stoles.
Herrera said the collection is for “the woman of today who likes to be dressed up… Women are sometimes afraid of being called elegant or glamorous.”
