Gallery Marcilhac in Paris presents Serge Lutens Photographies, a retrospective exhibition to the work of the iconic photographer, based on his upcoming book “Berlin to Paris” by Electa Editions.
Known for his expertise for innovative and sought-after fragrances, we sometimes overlook Serge Lutens‘ passion for photography.
A selection of 30 images, most of them unpublished, dated from 1967 to 2008 overshow the artist’s obsession with female form and beauty and the transformations he used on his models through extravagant jewelry, costumes, make-up and hairstyles, the elements that make his photographic style widely recognizable.
Many of these images were made during the 70s and are mostly unpublished.
This exhibition is indeed exceptional : each photographs will only be reproduced in five or seven prints, each bearing the signature of the artist, certified by an inked seal. The most enthusiastic collectors will thus have the opportunity to buy a unique work of art which reflects an artistic expression that made his mark on our time.
The must-see exhibition will be open to the public from October 26th to December 21st, 2012.
