If you are in Paris between 13th April and 7th October this year, make sure to pass by the Musee Galliera. In honor of the 40th anniversary of Balenciaga‘s death the museum showcases an extraordinary exhibit of his amazing historical Spanish costumes. Over 70 pieces dating from the 18th-20th century and 40 couture dresses will take your breathe away and will give you a true taste of couture in its original state.

Comme des Garcons SS 2012 collection “White drama”, will also be displayed during this time.

Clothes and artifacts in the Balenciaga show are displayed as they are stored in a museum’s reserves.

Rei Kawakubo chose to display her “White Drama” collection in bubbles.

Given carte blanche to exhibit her 33 looks in a rectangular, industrial space, Kawakubo chose to encase her dresses — styled exactly like the runway — in clear plastic bubbles.
