THOSE delectable pastel macarons from Ladurée, the French patisserie open in New York since late summer, with lines still up the block, have been given the Judith Leiber treatment. That is, the Leiber company, known for its sparkling evening bags, has modeled a collection of crystal pillboxes after the iconic confection. The inspired idea came about after Jana Matheson, the creative director of Judith Leiber, returned from a trip to Paris with macarons for her office. “Over a tea and macaron meeting, we matched crystal colors to the desserts,” she said. “It was one of our most delicious meetings.” The pillboxes, true to size, come in 14 flavorful colors including champagne, lemon, rose and mint.
